The Bredolab botnet is stubbornly clinging to life even after having its herder arrested in Armenia and 143 of its command servers knocked offline. A Scottish man has pleaded guilty to his role in a cybercrime ring. Authorities say Matthew Anderson used spam to distribute malware designed to steal financial information. His scheme, which began in 2005, targeted UK businesses.

Russian police have announced they have opened an investigation of a man they are calling a spam king. 33 year old Igor Gusev is accused of being responsible for up to 20% of all Viagra and prescription drug spam.
